Program overview

3 weeks ago #PIONEER Master Thesis Spotlight Today we’re featuring Abishek Sivakumar and his Master Thesis: “Coordination Through Interaction in the Twin Transition: Evidence from the Leuven Urban Innovation Ecosystem” As cities work towards becoming both greener and more digital, coordinating these two transitions isn’t always straightforward. Using Leuven (Belgium) as a case study, Abishek explored how governments, businesses and knowledge institutions work together to drive the twin transition. His research highlights the importance of collaboration, trust, and coordination across sectors, while introducing the concept of “cross-transition friction”—when digital and sustainability goals unintentionally compete with each other. The thesis also proposes practical coordination mechanisms that can help cities better align their climate and digital ambitions. 👏 Congratulations, Abishek, on this excellent work! 👉 Swipe to explore highlights from the research. #PIONEERMaster #TwinTransition #SmartCities #DigitalTransformation ...
